SPRING SHOW AND SALE OF STORE CATTLE 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A very strong trade today for anything with size or shape with smaller native breeds also selling really well. Highest price today came from Bainbridge Bros, Marrick with a very smart blue heifer that earlier in the day was placed as Reserve Champion and achieved £2310. Next in the Blue heifer section came from JF Bowe 7 Son, with his blue x friesian fit for either job, these were keenly bid for with two achieving £2100 and another at £2030. Limousin heifers were topped by DL Mudd with some smart sorts at £2040 with another three at £1940. In-between was B Acton at £2020 and £1920. Angus sired heifers topped at £1880 for T Metcalfe & Son and £1800 for G & P Middleton. Young Shorthorns from C Guy sold well with three at £1270. Steers were topped with a big blue steer with age from RW Ewan at £2230. Our Champion today came next from JR Blades, a younger but smart Steer and this achieved £2220. Strong blue x friesian from RF & RD Kettlewell achieved £2170 and £2080. Angus Steers came next in the prices from T Metcalfe & Son at £2180, £2030 & £2000. Limousin Steers were topped by S Alderson at £2010 and C Stanley had a pair in at £1950. Shorthorns again from C Guy hit £1300 for 2 and £1270 for another. Next Cattle sale is the 16th May 2026.
